Key Milestone Achieved for the I-290 Blue Line Reconstruction Project
The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP), in partnership with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), announced a significant milestone in the I-290 Blue Line Reconstruction Project. On June 12th, a Request for Proposals (RFP) was posted to seek a consultant to support a Corridor Development Office (CDO).
This strategic initiative aims to create a cohesive vision for the I-290 Blue Line Reconstruction Project, leveraging the expertise and collaborative efforts of the CDO. The CDO will be instrumental in formulating a comprehensive approach to corridor development, encompassing the sequencing and prioritization of projects, identifying funding and financing opportunities, and effectively communicating strategies to partners and stakeholders.
“The creation of the Corridor Development Office is a crucial step toward realizing the long-term vision for the I-290 Blue Line Reconstruction Project,” said John Greuling, Deputy Director of the I-290 Blue Line Coalition. “This initiative will not only enhance the planning and execution of projects but also ensure that they are aligned with the shared goals of the community and stakeholders.”
The RFP for the consultant role is now available and can be accessed here. Interested parties are encouraged to review the proposal and submit their applications as outlined in the document.
